Fluroscopy
What is Fluoroscopy?
Fluoroscopy is an x‐ray procedure that produces live pictures that appear on a screen instead of taking a permanent still picture. This allows the radiologist to observe how an organ performs its normal function; for example, how the esophagus works during swallowing.
Preparation
Please ensure the following steps are followed. They will serve to prepare you for your examination and/or procedure.
- Appointment required for this procedure
- Most Fluoroscopy examinations will require preparation such as fasting or bowel preparation
- You will be advised of the appropriate preparation when you make your appointment
