A General X-Ray is the broad term used to describe any examination taken with a normal x-ray machine onto regular x-ray film or a digital cassette. General X-Rays are the most common radiographic examination performed by Hunter Imaging Group. They can be used to image nearly all regions of the body such as the bones, lungs and abdomen.
General X-Rays can be used in the diagnosis and ongoing management of a vast array of conditions, so you should to consult with your referring doctor about the reason for your x-ray.
General X-Rays are taken either standing, sitting or lying on a bed. Depending on the examination you may need to remove some clothing or jewellery and wear a x-ray gown. Generally more than one x-ray is required and you may be asked to move to different positions for each image.
